USAT sanctioned triathlon at Lake Gardner in Amesbury, MA. The bike and run courses are flat and will be fast!! Racers will start the triathlon at Lake Gardner, swim a counter clockwise rectangle, bike on the flattest and fastest course in all of Massachusetts!! Thank You! Elite/Open (E/O) Category and Cash Prize Info

To be eligable for the Cash Prize's you must enter the Elite/Open Category BEFORE race day. If you are an age grouper that decides to race in the E/O Category you will NOT be eligable for Age Group Awards or placing.

$1100 Cash Purse:

$700 Cash, $300 in cash cards to Fit Werx 2, $100 cash cards Urbane Cyclist

Packet Pickup:

Pre-Race Packet pickup will be held on Friday July 9th from 12-7 in the amphi-theatre, right next to Flatbread Pizza in Amesbury. What to bring: a valid form of id and if you are usat member, your USAT card. There are waivers to sign so you will NOT be allowed to pickup a friends race packet, and if you are on a team, everyone must be present to pick up your packet.

Parking on Race Day

Spots are limited in and around Market Square. Majority of Parking will be at Municipal Lot, and at the Lower Mill Yard.

Course Information

  • The Lake Gardner Swim:

    Lake Gardner Swim

    1/2 mile fresh water swim in beautiful, Lake Gardner. This will be a wave start with athletes starting at 3 minute intervals. There will be Kayaks and boat support. Average water temperature is 70 degrees F.

  • The Scenic Bike Course:

    Amesbury Triathlon Bike Course

    The beautiful 12.3 mile bike course through Newton, South Hampton and Amesbury. Start out right at Lake Gardner, then head off through beautiful Woodsom Farms, while riding through the beautiful Powow and Lake Atatash area. This is a draft-free event! Marshals will be enforcing USA Triathlon drafting guidelines. You must know the rules! All athletes must have CPSC approved helmets to participate.

  • The Short Run:

    Amesbury Triathlon Running Course

    3.2 mile Run is a scenic out and back course through Woodsom Farms and Downtown Amesbury, before finishing back at Lake Gardner. There will 2 aid stations stocked with Powerade Endurance Formula, water, and energy gels.

Stick Around After the Event

Post Race Pizza:
Stick around for the great Brickoven Pizza featuring Flatbreads. Keep the music pumping, as Lany will be performing for all of you at Lake Gardner as you cool down. Massage will be available, compliments of Pavana Massage Therapy. Relax, kickback and enjoy the rest of the day!

Ipswich Beergarden:
Ipswich Brewery has a beergarden for you! Some of the best tasting beer...hands down!!!

Cowbell Station:
Come and grab a cowbell or make a sign for your favorite triathlete!

Lodging:
You will want a place to relax and unwind after the big day. Lodging is in beautiful Newburyport, which is only 9min away from Downtown Amesbury. From a spacious condominium to a cozy B&B inn it's a perfect fit to end the day.
